Collaboration For Community Resilience (covid 19) (Southern Grampians Glenelg PCP)
Understanding the complexity of community impacts and adaptations to build community resilience in the face of COVID 19 as at June, 2020. The first two weeks of the onset of the pandemic saw a rapidly changing environment with SGGPCP partners required to implement unprecedented actions and navigate a web of complex information, generally resulting in a focus on internal organisational response. The SGGPCP Collaboration for Community Resilience network began to meet in early April 2020 with the aim to develop a shared understanding of the impacts of COVID 19, the actions being implemented and begin to identify the gaps.
Digital Connection For Seniors (Central Vic PCP)
Macedon Ranges Shire has an older population compared to Victoria. The physical distancing required to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has seen an increase in the reliance on digital platforms that enable people to socially connect, keep updated on government directives, as well as attend medical appointments, online shopping and interact with online hobbies and support groups. Through the local pandemic emergency response it was identified that there were a number of local programs to support older people to become digitally connected. It was agreed that this program needed to be adaptable in this new physical distancing environment.
Macedon Ranges Adaptable And Resilient (Central Vic PCP)
To slow the spread of COVID-19, the Macedon Ranges community demonstrated their resilience and adapted to the new social environment of physical distancing. The Macedon Ranges Health and Wellbeing Partnership used social media to promote examples of adaptability, with the hope of inspiring other groups to maintain their social connections. Short 3-minute videos were produced to showcase these examples of adaptability and resilience. These were shared via Facebook by the Macedon Ranges Health and Wellbeing Partnership to increase the reach of the message #AdaptableAndResilient.
